“2012 B”. Not as clean as 2011. -Monster Malt and less honey…. But much more astringent/ boozy.

11+ years old bottle. Cloudy dark brown. Moved fantastic in the glass before settling flat. Boozy and malty. Fruity. This is shockingly bitter for an 11 year old bottle. Maintained fantastic flavors but this is mostly an experience of malted alcohol.

This is what happens when you neglect to make sure you grabbed the right bottle. Flat, chewy, dense....

Dogfish had this 8 yr old bottle on sale. This is a completely different beast. The hops are gone and a barleywine remains

Someone brought in a single bottle of this last week when I stopped by Old Irving Brewing. It was both strange and delicious. Boozy, malty and the 10-years aging sure did get it reeeeeeeeal smooth.

Wow. Not the color I was expecting. It’s flat but tasty. I wonder how it was stored for the last 10 years.

Pretty, pretty, pretty, good for an 11 year old beer. Rich malty caramelized sweetness. Vintage shelf find at Dogfish Head Brewery.

Pretty much a barleywine at 14 years of aging. Still great flavours. Would prefer fresh.

This is only ok. Hasn't aged nearly as well as the 2007 we opened in 2021. Better as it warms up, a bit of a red ale, malty and sweet but also hoppy.

This didn’t age as well as the 2007 in 2021. More red ale and less apricot jam barleywine. Saving the other bottle for a bit to see if it improves.

Cardboard, toffee, sherry. Oxidized, sweet, firmly bitter, slightly astringent. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Better than when it’s fresh at least.
