I would have scored at 3.75, but due to $9/bottle price, I adjusted down to 3.5 because the small ROI

It’s a return in cans brew pub only so had to hit it!!! A lot thinner and less body then I remember. Was an great beer in its day for sure. This not so much.

Another that's been in the cellar for quite a few years. I'm picky on the Belgians that I like and this one of them. Not as estery as most. Just enough sweetness comes out more as it warns. Pleasant.

I actually like this better than when I first tasted it. Strong maltiness with a Belgian estery boldness. The ruby-mahogany is really a pleasant colour with a clarity that marries well.

Pours with deep mahogany color and no head. Some Belgian notes dominated by dark fruit and raisins. Picked as the “Best American in 2000” by Malt Advocate Magazine, Its not as good as I remember.

Would be a higher rating if I drank this fresh. This beer and 60 minute got me started on Craft a long time ago. Glad DFH is rolling out Crowlers!!!

Super malty and sweet. But also dark and strong. Tastes more boozy than it actually is.

A deep, mahogany ale brewed with beet sugar, green raisins, and Belgian-style yeast. As complex as a fine, red wine. Voted \American Beer of the Year\" in January 2000 by Malt Advocate Magazine."

The doubled alcohol in the extra makes a big difference. Still good.

Flight. It’s been a while. Still good as I remember. Brown ale with brown sugary notes

Strong aroma of raisins and black licorice; faint oxidized malt: it's an old bottle. Raisins, burnt caramel flavour; licorice is almost balsamic. Lightly roasted coffee & a hint of final smoke.

Good, but definitely strong and more of a wine taste than beer. Really interesting!

Solid! Actually like this better than the d'extra

Was one of my fav beers like Midas touch before it was discontinued. The D'extra is better for aging and stronger anyway, but really good Barleywine style ale and lots of brown sugar and raisin sweetness

Vintage. A little flat, and without all of its in-its-prime charms and flavor profile. But still better than expected. I wish they still brewed this.

2012 version, should have opened this sooner, but still not bad 8 years on. No carbonation left. A bit more pruney than I remember.

Old school brew, new school packaging. Love that dfh did a small batch at the pub in RB. Classic.
