120 Minute IPA (2019)

IPA - Quadruple

Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45°P, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBU’s, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads.

Found these beauties on a shelf in Illinois-poor things: 2 years old and in a clearance section. Bought ALL six...1st of the 6 and STUNNINGLY delicious, at this point, no longer an Imperial or DIPA, but malty/rich and a delicious Barleywine-my FAVE style!

I mean it’s pretty good, and though I know it’s going to be pretty sweet, it’s still maybe a little too sweet. But I’m also at the beach so bring it on.

Pretty different than the last 3 years, but I still don’t care for it. More rounded out with less bitterness. More watery as well.

On tap, and got cloudy with age. But ironically tastes basically the same.

Who knew you can age IPAs? It definitely has a big, sweet, sugary balance to the hops

Round 3 - Catch up - almost perfect but for these guys and this brew, just shy on a few levels, and not as sweet as desired especially since the last couple years we’re on the better train. But again, this in a legendary IPA, aging well so far

Fading hops and a nice sweetness. Can’t tell this is high ABV.

Poured a little too long, got a bit of sediment that changed the color dark. Still hoppy and boozy, but pleasantly sweet as well.

The holy grail of DFH IPAs. A little boozier going back to 2019. So good… but will knock you on your ass!

ages well, they say. i suppose so. still good, for sure. more of a sweet barleywine than an IPA after 2 years, but a really nice beer.

I imagine this is what Heaven tastes like. I've let it age for a couple years, but honestly I'm not sure if I can tell a difference, which doesn't really matter for something that tastes this amazing

Two years aged, bottled 9.13.19, drank 9.13.21. Absolute monster, but mellowed a bit with aging. Oddly balanced for an intentionally unbalanced beer. Always an experience, love this beer. Drink it. Yes it’s worth the price just buy it children.
