Losing a little oomph? But still syrupy & very sweet.

This is a serious situation at this point in the night. Like eating fruit soaked in grain alcohol, if that tasted good.

Great. Sweet, and can't believe the alcohol content

Typical dogfish. Still super boozy! Flavors are better than when I tried it last but geez.

Aged well. Developed complex flavors of chocolate, cherry, molasses, assertive sweetness that dissipates quickly but a nice warming finish.

Aged very well, 17% abv is hidden well, sweet like a barleywine but doesn’t have any burn. This would be awesome to sip on during winters with some Christmas cookies

Has it really been 5 years? Just beginning to thicken into molten cherry cake, like a Nazi superweapon developed in some salt mine tunnel; chest hair thickening, kvass inspiring, old friend of the forest.

This 5-year old beer has come up in conversation twice in the last few weeks. So I had to grab one from the cellar. Boozy and lost some of its edges.

Big sweetness up front, some acidic fruit in the middle, and expected warmth to n the back end. Smooth and complex, a nice sipper considering the firepower behind it, but not exactly my cup o tea

Very unique indeed. Not sure if cellaring this for 5 years was the right call it not, it was a little syrupy for me, but the booziness was mellowed

Another cellar pull for my birthday week. Little green these days. Alcohol heat has mellowed a lot. Chocolate and cherry still prevalent. Aged pretty good

Five years aged, was pretty solid. Interesting, to say the least

Jen got this for me when we were first dating, 5 years ago. I tried it once when it first came out and it has gotten much better with age. Still very intense, thick and sweet but the flavors are much more harmonious now.

2015. Not much carbonation. Tastes better than it did before.

Holy moly this thing is strong and smooth. It’s been aging for probably 3-4 years in my fridge and I completely forgot about it until tonight. I now wish I picked up more of this before they stopped making it.

Aging this a few years probably helped cut down the alcohol heat. Cherry and a bit of chocolate coming through.

17 percent alcohol. Gift from little Paul several years ago. Split with John watching a bowl game. Pretty good. A little sweet for me. So glad to have the chance to sample/taste this brew.

Five years on the shelf has smoothed the edges. Rich and bold cherry overtop of the chocolate. Real sipper, sweet and syrupy. Warming finsh. Great ruby/ caramel color. Minimal carbonation

I hope 5+ years gave this time to breathe... at least I’m pretty much over this beer habit 5 years in.

Everything about this beer fresh, five years ago, has remained. Save for the tart cherry finish. Really miss that. Lots of sweet milk chocolate, rich caramel, and creamy vanilla.

Loved reading friends comments on this one. My first time trying, 6 years apparently did this beer some good things. I dig it.

6 years later, doesn't taste boozy at all, smells a tad boozy. Literally just a massive amount of chocolate with a hint of dried cherries. Changed so so much from 2015.
