Cellar Saturday: 2015 edition. Boozy cherry chocolate. No head. Super sweet.

2015- enjoyed at 5 years old - pours murky reddish brown, little carbonation, boozy chocolate covered cherry. Raisins. Chocolate overpowers the cherry too much. Little too sweet. Thick and syrupy. Glad to have tried it. They hit what they were aiming for.

This is a serious situation at this point in the night. Like eating fruit soaked in grain alcohol, if that tasted good.

Forgot I had one of these in the cellar. Gosh darn amazing still after 5 years. No bubbles but the flavors were on point. (Had it this past week, not this morning.)

It's very boozy. At 17% abv I'm not surprised. Can definitely taste the cherries and chocolate. The booziness is a bit overwhelming though. Remembering 19 years after 9/11 and 20 years after my Dad passing. Twoje zdrowie (cheers in Polish)

What a great nerd brew. So much going on here. Sweet and full bodied. It is basically a 120 IPA with chocolate and cherry juice added. Only problem I have is that I wish I would have bought more!

Aged well. Developed complex flavors of chocolate, cherry, molasses, assertive sweetness that dissipates quickly but a nice warming finish.

Aged very well, 17% abv is hidden well, sweet like a barleywine but doesn’t have any burn. This would be awesome to sip on during winters with some Christmas cookies

Aged very well. Definite sherry notes, but the cake flavors came out without overpowering. I bought this on a 40th birthday trip and opened it for my 45th birthday.

Has it really been 5 years? Just beginning to thicken into molten cherry cake, like a Nazi superweapon developed in some salt mine tunnel; chest hair thickening, kvass inspiring, old friend of the forest.
