Deep Delish

Strong Ale - American

We brewed this Fall- centric strong ale in collaboration with our friends at Dewey Beer Co. and Fifer Orchards. Taking inspiration from a classic American dessert, the maple apple crisp, we created a reduction of Fifer Orchards apple cider to concentrate the flavors and create caramelized notes. To add some pie crust flavors, we baked a portion of the mash until it was golden brown and toasty then added it back to the brew. Finally, to bring all the dessert-goodness, we added classic warm spices and sweet Madagascar vanilla beans. The result is a big & bold copper ale just bursting with fresh-from-the-oven Fall goodness.

Solid. Could use more refinement but nice apple flavors. Mice to see local collaboration with DBC and Fifers

The pic: Dogfish Head Fall Harvest Festival. The treehouse is open for tours today. The beer: Strong Ale fall collaboration w/Dewey Beer Company; brewed with local freshly pressed apple juice, maple syrup & brown sugar. First Post-Hope the rating holds…

If you can find it it’s well worth the search! Fall in a can: apple , slight maple syrup flavor and just enough spice to not be over bearing.

Mmmm. A beer-grape mashup. Rich and sweet. But also some butyric and chemical notes. Pass.

This is a glass of Thanksgiving cheer. Apple pie spices on the nose. Fifer Orchard apples marry perfectly with this ale. Hints of maple syrup add just the right amount of sweetness.

Looks like an unfiltered, hazy apple cider, but with a creamy, tan head. Maple syrup and brown sugar compliment the gently tart apple. The 9.2 ABV is subtle and balanced. Glad I still had a can of this left.
