Lou Pepe Gueuze (2011) Woodfin
The cap demonstrates the characteristics of proper storage. Original BE labeling. I think I picked this up at Malt Attacks? Super juicy, well-rounded.

7 November 2023, direct from the Museum of Gueuze. Top 5 beer for me.

Oude Geuze Boon à l'Ancienne - Vat 77 Mono Blend Woodfin
Cedar, ruby grapefruit. Edged up to exceptional with a little breath & the pairing of Boon pâté.

More tartness than typical for a ‘loon. Strawberry sour patch kid hit the nose as soon as the cork popped. Nice.

Right off the cellar rack. Gorgeous, juicy, with that dry, dusty Cureghem finish. Been a long two years since flying this home.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio Woodfin
22 March 2016. Wow. Getting tons of oak & that Cantillon musty funk, plus some grapefruit(?!). One of the prettiest gueuzes I’ve had the chance to drink.

Oude Geuze Boon Black Label (2015) Woodfin
This gift of Benjamin D. spent a year resting comfortably in my office during the pandemic with no noticeable strain!

13 May 2014. Not usually my favorite ‘loon, but the age has added a sweet-wine vinegar note that is quite pleasant. Second older, side-stored Cantillon in a row that had clearly seen the other side of the cork. Both were great.

Rob B. remember picking these up? VIP treats! Not the richest quad, but I’m not sure that’s a bad thing. Dry and dangerously sippable.

Stored on its side, this beer was very much alive on the far side of the cork! Dried apricot, Cureghem must.
