Big Worse Holbert

Very earthy and hoppy. Also bitter. But sweet malt in the back. Interesting. Probably past its prime.

Strangely still really good. Fruity, raspberry, Belgian. Quite good.

Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA Holbert

Fuck me. So good. So rich. Like a barleywine IPA. First sip, this years 120 minute.

Mango Magnifico (2016) Holbert

Very nice still. Strong mango plus fruit sweetness with some significant heat in the background. Still quite good!

French Toast Bastard Holbert

Strong maple on the nose. Like fresh 100% maple syrup, not fake table syrup. Flavor starts with almost as much maple syrup but fades quickly to allow the bourbon oak notes to take over keeping it from being too sweet.

Big Lushious (2014) Holbert

2014 version. Holds up excellent!! A bit of a light stout with strong raspberry notes and some light chocolate ones too. A bit refreshing somehow too. Definitely recommended.

Red & White Holbert

Aged for quite awhile in the bottle. Probably at least 5 years old. Still tastes good. Pretty light body at this point. Still has the wine flavors going on which gives it a nice overall flavor.

Backwoods Bastard (2016) Holbert

2016 vintage. This thing has gotten smooooth! Almost no booziness whatsoever. Sweet and caramel right away with just a touch of oak. Wouldn’t go back in vintages any further, this is almost to the point of oxidation.

Birra Etrusca Bronze (2013) Holbert

Is actually quite good and held up nicely. Still probably past its prime but easily still drinkable. Strong malt and sweet raisin presence with just a touch of tartness probably from the pomegranates.

Kvasir Holbert

Interesting ale. Also probably from 2015. Way past its prime. Rather tart lingonberries up front with some slightly sweet notes hanging back. I think grog is a proper term here.

Fruit-Full Fort Holbert

Pretty tasty. Tons of tart berries up front. Very thick, cloudy concoction. Starts out tart then ends up sweet. Interesting beer.

Higher Math Holbert

From 2015. Wasn’t sure how it would hold up but this is still great. Strong fruits at the forefront. Very tasty.

120 Minute IPA (2018) Holbert

Very malty sweet. Rather dark in color like a barleywine. A little bitter but mostly sweet. Can tell it’s a big boy, but it doesn’t seem very boozy.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Holbert

Good. Better as it warms. Coffee flavor and chocolate at first but as it warms it becomes more fudge like. Tasty.

Backwoods Bastard (2015) Holbert

6 years old. Exceptionally smooth at this point. Normally fresh this beer is a lil hot but this one doesn’t have that issue. Still strong tasting but super smooth and delicious.

Aged well. Nice sweet malts give this a good finish. Tastes aged not old. Solid. Thanks Mike!

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) Holbert

Not sure what year this is, I assume the most recent, but it’s sure tasting pretty good still. Very nice balance between sweet and bitter.

Curmudgeon's Better Half Holbert

Not sure of the year but it definitely has a few under it’s belt. Still quite good. Sweet molasses and only a tiny bit of oxidation. So, nicely holding up well. My first time having it. Thanks Mike!
