Nose has a pretty strong pickled note to me but taste is floral and lovely.

Lci. Bottled 06.14.22, so had it at about 10 months. Wasn’t tasting as great to me as usual but might have been an off day.

Oude Geuze Boon à l'Ancienne - VAT 31 Mono Blend Arbour
Funky complex gueze that hides the 8.5%. Love the stone fruit notes. Great barrel character, complex. Thanks Amanda!

Oude Geuze Boon Vat 122 Arbour
As good as any Boon OG I’ve had. Less intense and in your face than usual, which makes it much better for me. The vanilla oak and subtle white wine notes = 🤤

Oude Geuze Boon Black Label Edition N°7 Arbour
More rough and sulfuric than the vat 122, but still pretty fantastic gueze IMO.

Live from the East Coast! Mmm, still a great IPA, I’m happy to report.

Lci. A nice roasty one, with some smoked-peat Scotch notes and finish. I’m a fan.

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) Arbour
Bottled 2.22.2021. 😌 Coffee doesn’t seem quite as strong as 2019 (and 2020?) batches, so seems a little sweeter overall, but might be my taste today. Consistently great brew year after year.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) Arbour
Friday. Probably prefer it more fresh, but this stuff is one of a kind.

Underground Mountain Brown Arbour
Bottled 7/29/2019. Aged pretty nicely. Bourbon is quite strong and coffee still present to give a nice balance to the heavy malt base. Rich oak notes.

Lots of barnyard (horse dung) that I often get in stronger red ales and hoppy black beers. Pretty classic old school grapefruit and pine. Very bitter.

One of best, especially for the price (4,50 for this ‘lil guy). Love the balance of Cantillon’s flagship brews.

CLAC! (Trois Cépages) (2019) Arbour
Get that “raw meat” note pretty intensely, but beyond that lovely cinnamon-like spice and red fruit / grape.

Lci. Smoky indeed! (One of the suggested notes—glad it’s not just me.) So close to Scotch smoked peat. May be past it’s prime for aging but damn that was worth trying.

Lci. Delicious stone fruit, sour quince, white wine grape (not sure which varietals), yogurt young cheese and sausage lambic fermentation. Super complex but mostly just fruity-delish and tartly refreshing. One of the best lambics I’ve had.

Had to revisit. Didn’t blow my mind as much as first time, but damn this is great.

I love everything about this. First impression was fruity dark chocolate/cacao nib and earthy about to rain smell. Disagree with “tropical”—for me all about strawberry, raspberry, blackberry w/ piney undertones. Taste is juicy orange + cacao nib earthy.

Yesterday. Weird one for me but it was after the rhubarb lambiek.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) Arbour
Last night’s treat. Bottled 10.26.20. Delightful dessert beer!

Bottled March 2021. Wonderful essence of raspberry with enough complex fermentation funk to make it really interesting. Supremely balanced lambic.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2020) Arbour
Lci 23 June. Bott 9.17.2020. Starting to show the oxidation notes of black olive (tapenade) and other. Still damn good for a coffee beer after this long.

Dammit, didn’t check the date. Come on Hopduvel, don’t buy/sell old beer. BB 6 July 2021. Laaaame.

BB 17/11/2021. Mmm, great yuzu character—intense, and still has the traditional Berliner weisse foundation. Sour power!

Lci Sunday. Disappointed, I have to say. The white grape and champagne/white wine fruit aroma was great, but not complex in aroma and especially in taste. Normal Boon OG is better.

Yesterday. Been too long, OGB! Tasting fantastic. Bottled 26.08.2020.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) Arbour
This is stupid good. Incredible balance for such an over-the-top beer. Fudgey AF, but tons of dark roasty coffee, bourbon-maple, vanilla, and great long finish.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2020) Arbour
Yesterday, March 2020 bottle #4. Got much funkier in the “cellar” (18-21 °C) since last bottle: more sulfide stink but at a pleasant level. Prefer it younger, but it’s just something different now, and that’s cool. Still plenty of kriek character :)

Bott 23 Sept, and 45-level hop IBU presence makes itself known—love it. Velvety mouthfeel for sure. Reminding me of dried plums, maybe some cherries, covered in super dark bitter chocolate. A treat.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) Arbour
Paired so nicely with roasted spiced pumpkin (and with a good 75% dark chocolate ;). Impressive balance for such a rich, sweet brew.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2020) Arbour
Yesterday. My Cantillon kriek expt., bottle #2 (bottled 2 March). Wow, this has became much less sweet since my first try a couple months back! A slight improvement for me.

Nothing better after a day of biking. Okay, Moeder Lambic far surpassed my expectations! The original location, at least, is so simple and authentic. Thanks Leo and Luiza for the idea and for indulging me!

Cuvée Moeder Lambic (Kriek) Arbour
Wow, great pairing with the cheese trio! Especially the excellent Gorgonzola (not too salty or intense—best I have had). Intense sweet cherry and almond nose, but surprisingly tart and dry in taste.
