Remember the days when KBS was special? Yeah, I miss those too.

This has aged incredibly well. The mango is still on point and the trailing heat is wonderful.

This is going to sound strange coming from the coffee addict, but a tad too much coffee. I wonder if it was different 2 years ago when it was fresh? More well balanced?

This is fantastic. The berry on the front end is wonderful and all blushing monk. The back end is all tequila barrel and amazing.

First beer in the new house! I dug deep into the collection for this baby. Slightly more on the malt and of course less hops but still complex, delicious. As usual, fantastic.

Still slightly sweet on the front end and fiery on the finish.

Rather underwhelming. I get the orange but it is just stomped on by bitterness that really muddled the flavors rather than accents them.

Bottle Shop Series Mango Magnifico S
Great mango sweetness and a lingering heat from the habanero. Malty and boozy through and through.

Slow cooking the stew for a lazy New Year’s Day. Half of the stout in for the liquid to start it. 1/4 for me. 1/4 to finish the stew later

More bitter than boozy, and not hoppy, just bitter. A tad disappointing. But that seems to be Founders for the last 3-4 years.

Cinnamon barely gets time to register before bitter burnt flavors overwhelm everything. This is not a good beer.

Ages well. Has a nice initial bite to it still with a smooth mellow finish and a little tangy spike at the finish. Good on a hot day.

Very sweet up front with a nice light sour on the back end.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) S
Still no maple to speak of. Very sweet and disappointing. The sap from the sugar maples boiling in the background has more maple notes than the beer.

A little bitter but great vanilla hit and a smooth silky maple roasty middle through the finish.

A nice hop forward beer with subtle sweetness on it. A nice 11pm beer

I get the chocolate fudginess, but no barrel, no maple, mostly burnt malt. It is ok at best. Maybe if it warms up a bit but I don’t know what will cut the burnt flavor.

Most of it in the stew and only a taste for the chef. I need to make smaller stews to drink more of the beer.

Great vanilla hit up front with nice roasty coffee tones and light chocolate hints to finish. Great mouth feel too.

Normally not a golden ale fan but the coffee and cocoa makes this really tasty.
