Bottled 2016. Apples, vanilla, oak, vinegar, sweet and tart nose. Dry and oaky, quite fresh and easy with low carbonation and fruity finish. Really nice, but not the best from this box of 4 different mono blend.

Bottled 2016. Oaky, vinous scent with grape juice and grape seeds, popcorn and vinegar. Mellow carbonation, nice depth, oaky, tart and perfect grape flavour. What a gem!

Vanilla and sweet tropical fruits. Thin, but nice fruitiness with some hops and bitterness in the finish. Fine standard NEIPA.

Very difficult beer with a total crash between coffee and raspberry. Plus for its originality and that it doesn’t taste Non-alcoholic. But overall a challenge to like and hard to rate.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2023) Jonsson

Coffee grounds, soy, tobacco, dark chocolate, vanilla and a maple syrup. Not as good as it used to be, but still really enjoyable!

French Toast Bastard 2023 Jonsson

Butterscotch, fudge, maple syrup, caramel and burnt sugar. Do I have to say it’s a sweet scent…sweet caramel taste, dry and oaky with a malty, still sweet, finish. Some parts really nice, some parts too much…

Curmudgeon’s Better Half (2019) Jonsson

Butterscotch, syrup, caramel, white chocolate and red berries. Smooth, sweet taste with a lot of “cellar” notes, well aged but still fresh and vibrant. Great!

Coffee grounds, dark chocolate, cocoa, oak and bourbon. Classic bourbon barrel aged stout, always good but also a reminder of how many breweries that makes it better nowadays.

Oude Geuze Boon Black Label Edition N°6 Jonsson

Apple cider, oak, green grapes, vinegar and acidity. Quite short and easy taste, but all the flavours are there. Not best in class, but still an enjoyable Geuze.

Oude Geuze Boon à l'Ancienne - VAT 92 Mono Blend Jonsson

3 weeks vacation starts with this Geuze from 2017. Very oaky scent with burnt popcorn and grapes. Dry oaky taste as well, mild carbonation, sweet grape juice and slightly sour. Really nice balance and depth. It has aged well!

Lemon, vanilla and stone fruits, sweet and grassy with a sharp bitterness in the finish. More west coast than New England. Good but not my preferred style.
