Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA mcfarland

1st vacation beer! Paired with packing for a Caribbean cruise. Drinks like a big barleywine, which is not a bad thing at all. Barrel really comes through in the nose. Gracias TC for picking this up!

Starting to get into what I remember as 120, just a little less hoppy. Had a a slight touch of oxidation.

Not as good as the 2012, but the fact it’s 10 yrs old still says something. Has a sharper bite or punch than the 2012, not sure if it’s soured a little.

Was buying some steaks and saw this. It didn’t disappoint! Solid balance between a floral/tropical nose and initial sip w a nice piney/juniper finish.

First sip was all chocolate w a hint of coffee. Vanilla on the nose. Coffee has gotten more prominent as it warms. Chickens all agree this is a great beer, since they’ve decided to stop by and watch me drink it… Thx for the share TC, BBTE 4 Life!!

Can’t believe I nearly forgot to log this at HackBros B. after splitting the’14. A little more bite than the other, definitely a distinct difference bw the two.

Malty, sweet, with a twinge of sharp hoppiness at the finish. Has mellowed out quite a bit.

Strong coffee that fades into a boozy chocolatey-ness. Bitter coffee circles back around and gets a shot in at the end...
