Promises Kept

Barleywine - English

“Promises Kept” is the honourable followup to “Promises Made” and the completion of our two part collaboration with Patrick Schou (the great hair and man behind Pleasanti Street). Unlike its previously released partner, “Promises Kept” has spent the last year and a half resting in French Armagnac barrels; soaking in the flavours of the wood, residual spirits and time. It is a dark, smooth, modern barleywine, with flavours of dried figs, caramel, spirit, licorice, burnt sugar, and oak with a slightly smoky finish.

LCI. Very unique and complex taste. Amazing craft like nothing else. But personally it tastes too much like wine and too little of beer. Considering the price Ibwpuld not buy it again

Spicy and dried fruit notes. Dry, spicy, raisins, sweet Finnish liquorice and a warming booze tone. Stays rather dry and spicy throughout.

Intresting take on a barleywine. Pours almost black but with a really clear apperance. Chocolate at first- then the spices from the Armangac barrels kick. Finishes rather boozy. This is a sipper.

Burnt sugar and figs with toasty and roasty notes. Lots of caramel and malt. Almost sticky but lots of balanced bitterness at the end. Massive thanks to Ulrik O. And Julie J. this one!

So happy I got to try this one from Danish micro brewery Fanø Bryghus. Thank you Ulrik O. and Julie J. for bringing this one, it is so good! Barrel aged, fruity, boozy sweetness and I am really enjoying this. ☺️

LOVE the art on this one, but the barleywine more than lives up to its label. Fruity, boozy, and some smooth caramel! Thank you so much Julie J. & Ulrik O. 🍻

Havde forventet meget mere.
