Lambic D’Haute Densité

Lambic - Traditional

The result is surprising. The beer is amber, without carbonation, and comes in at 9.1% ABV and 8° Plato residual sugar. It's close to a Barley Wine or an oxidized wine like Madeira, Sherry or Vin Jaune. Even more surprising is that when we forgot a half-empty bottle, th beer was still good when we tasted it....after 8 days. This beer will be poured for the first time next weekend in Portland (Maine) for The Festival organised by Shelton Brothers and 12% imports.

Kind of weird off flavors. Smells like cherries and liquorish. Too boozy.

Hij bevalt iets beter dan de vorige keer, maar het blijft voor mij de minste van Cantillon. Zonder koolzuur, bijna niet zuur.

Nutty and earthy, good booziness, definitely get the aging notes. Flat af, and funky with an aftertaste like bile. It's like they made a good beer then accidentally oxidized it and tried to pass it off as a sour. Still best in show for me.

Dusty, light alcoholic note, madeira oxidized notes, bitter, sligh off in the finish. Ok

Tastes like a bourbon barrel aged, not too boozy, interesting aftertaste.

Perfect shout from my drinking companion, very much like a port which isn’t a winner with my tastebuds. Not dissing all ports, Peterheid is nae bad.

Pure rancio. Raisins, sultanas, polished oak and stacks of gentle sourness.

Very different than anything I’ve had before. Viscous and tart. Alcohol burn.
