French Toast Bastard

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Backwoods Bastard gets the 4-star breakfast treatment. Our bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale is introduced to maple syrup, cinnamon, and sweet vanilla for a decadent brunch-inspired sipper. Breakfast for dinner, anyone?

Nose: maple, biscuity šŸ šŸŖ Taste: boozy, roasted, Finish: bitter dark mocha Overall: I loved the 2019 variety and was looking forward to this, but wasn't so much to my taste.

To borrow from Tommy Boy, Holy Schnikes! This is SO similar to real FT! Loads of maple syrup, copious amts of cinnamon, and I'm sure vanilla is in there somewhere, but this was a great finisher. Founders crushed this one!

No shortage of cinnamon or golden syrple here (juste un soupƧon d’érable) in this breakfasty bruiser. Cinnamon's not usually my thing but this is the smoothest, finest variety I know: nothing off in this treat which hides its heat

Omg.this.is.fabulous. Fortunately with the ABV, it’s a smaller pour, but wow, they nailed it.

So good, great liquid French toast. The smell is perfect buttery cinnamon French toast. The taste is perfect roasted malts and maple. I enjoy this very much!

Very late Check-In from earlier this month. A gift from a beer distributor. Founders Bastard Scottish Ale + vanilla, maple syrup and cinnamon. Quite balanced and delicious. Happy New Year's UnTapp'd People šŸŽ‰ šŸŽŠ šŸ»

Very sweet and maple forward. It definitely tastes like breakfast and could go over pancakes (or French toast…)
