Cellar throwback. Prominent bittersweet chocolate and black coffee with a mellowed bourbon barrel presence. It does not get raisin-like, stone fruit, flavors similar to an aged darkness. Thanks Adam!

String up the lights & light up the tree it’s time to make some revelry. Spirits are high and I can tell…..

That has done really well for the last 3 years. Chocolate and barrel

Clearing out the backlog. A decent amount of oak. A pinch of coffee, no barrel, some chocolate

Cheers to the last normal year 🍻 Lots of chocolate on the palate, lists of booze in the nose

Friday. Probably prefer it more fresh, but this stuff is one of a kind.

Has 3 years of bottle development made it better? Yes. Noticeably smoother than when it first came out. Too bad this is my last bottle.

This also cellared well, though it did lose a bit of punch. Still great.

The bourbon is really mellow, letting the oak shine through. The chocolate doesn't come through as strong this year, which is just as well, imo

Spicy food is blocking the flavors but the nose is great and it's boozy as hell.

Cracking open the cellar aka back closet for this one. Still packing the barrel with subtle chocolate on the finish.

Yes…drinking this 2 1/2 year old brew. Kinda boozy, but still quite good.

2019 vintage. Found on the back shelf. A big ol’ bourbon barrel stout with some nice smokiness on the back end. Can definitely tell how aging effected the brew. Excellent, and I expect nothing else from Founders.

3 years in the bottle and it gets smoother! Thought its supposed to get boozier! Chocolate still there and coffee. Bourbon note at the finish…. So good.
