Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2015)

Stout - Imperial / Double Coffee

What we’ve got here is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, then cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish. Makes your taste buds squeal with delight.

9 years out. Still amazing. Excellent chocolate and coffee notes. Love the aroma. Thank you Brian F. for sharing!

Gifted to me by a friendly Redditor. Over 9 years old at this point. No rating as it was certainly not intended to be aged this long, but drinking this feels like seeing an old friend.

Tastes like it’s oxidized. Cap must’ve leaked. That’s a shame. Still getting a macro rating.

Got as an freebee in a trade, not sure if it was kept bad, just aged poorly, or a little of both.. maybe I just don’t like KBS.. but I didn’t enjoy this.

Drink em if ya got em folks. Might already be too late. Fallen off big time. Praying it’s just a bad bottle cause I have a bunch left.

Forgot to comment on the first one. I shouldn't have let it age this long. It was unproductive....

Drinkable but unfortunately it’s clearly well past its prime. Probably had to drive around to get this back in the 1pp days haha.

Still good notes of chocolate, coffee and Bourbon, but may have aged a bit too long. Tasted 'thin' compared to 18 to 36 months of aging. Still very good, had higher expectations

This far out, the bottles are hit and miss.. this one is mediocre at best. This one still has chocolate, but the coffee is gone, and the barrel that remains is muddled. Might manage it all, might pour...

Last time I had this was 2015... it’s ages kind of like I have. A bit sour, a bit heavier, but ya know... doing alright.

Clearing out my stash. Just ok, basically flat, no coffee notes, bourbon there, kind of bitter from barrel tannins.

No coffee. No carb. No lacing. I’m sure it was much more highly regarded when I bought it almost 7 years ago. Now it’s just another okay BA stout.

Once I was 7 years old. It’s pancake flat. So nice of my buddy to donate an 8 year vertical to me without the understanding that this was never going to make it over nearly a decade of hoarding. Give it a 3.5 based on year alone.
