Good, aged decently. Interesting smokiness that I liked. Coffee seems gone

The maple definitely subsides pretty quickly, but it’s influence remains in immense natural, rich sweetness in addition to the robust, chocolate KBS you expect. Years really do help all KBS remove the booziness, and no exception here.

KBS + maple syrup, apparently? I have yet to try the OG, but hopefully soon. This is a big daddy full-flavored stout and has come into its own after allowing it to age for several years. Can’t wait to try KBS on its own and compare all the varietals 🥰

It is what it is. Modern classic. Nice balance with the sweet ingredients and barrel. Might have been missing the sharpness slightly with my (additional) aging. LT from 09.01.2021

Worth the wait! Good one to age for sure. All notes still present and all seem to be nicely blended through the aging

Blind cellar beer #3. Really interesting to try this blind, it did not live up to the hype at all. Thin, a weird fruity sweetness in the middle, and a little coffee at the end. Don't think I'll finish the bottle.

"old" stock but still incredibly tasty!

Still good coffee roast and sweetness off the maple. And the cellar clean-out is near complete, save for a couple special diddys

So this is mellowing out, the barrel has taken a back seat, the maple and chocolate is more dominant, aging well for me........

Has aged very well. Still wish it was thicker, but flavor is very well rounded. Sweet coffee with maple chocolate

Pleasantly surprised that this is aging gracefully—even as the adjuncts fade, the remnants are blending together really nicely.

Updated check-in, 2 years later. Little to no maple, but the beer did get smoother, little less boozey. Still very solid.

Said so long to this holdout from a few years back and sad to see it go. CBS is and was one of the best BBA stouts out there. Rich, fudgy maple and a thiccness that don't quit.

Ageing has worked wonders. Nothing new, but beautifully executed. Thick chocolate sauce pairs perfectly with roasted coffee. A light, sticky maple quality brings sweetness. Prune, oak & a lightness of barrel round things off. The hype is justified.

Everything has aged beautifully in this, my oldest aged CBS. Maple and vanilla, so smooth now, the abv completely hidden. Tasty.
