Three years on and it’s mellowed quite a bit. That sweet maple syrup and fain barrel presence up front, bit of bitter coffee to finish things out. Super smooth.

An embarrassment of riches. Goes with cheeses, smoked foods, dessert. After all this time, has improved. Flavors are subtle, not overpowering. A stout for the ages.

Held up pretty well. Good balance between the sweet and bitterness, with hints of the bourbon barrel age

Very roasty. Behind the coffee is some matured chocolate & caramel malt. Maple is there but not much.

Oak flavor noted after warming up a bit; coffee and dark chocolate flavor, not as strong as the KBS

Medium mouthfeel. Nice balance of chocolate, maple sweetness and some BBA heat coupled with a tad of bitterness on the finish.

Nice maple and bourbon with a big whack of coffee. Very nice dessert beer.

Did a vertical of this and the 17'. I think 3 years is optimal time for aging. Thanks to Jamie S. for sharing this with me. The flavors have dissipated slightly, but the maple is still very pronounced in this. I'm going to miss this 🍺!
