I always enjoy this one. Bourbon barrel influence that’s never too sweet. A little bit of smoke for good measure.

Decided to hang with a couple bastards tonight. The barrel serves the base beer well. Nice caramel notes meld well with the barrel.

Love a good scotch ale & the bastard never fails to disappoint. Just a thin body, but loads of caramel & toffee, followed by dark fruit, oak & leather. Mellow for the abv.

Malty and a little sweet, but not very. Smooth and heavy with nice caramel flavor.

LC 8/13 - This is a shell of its former self - none of that caramel that I fell in love with, plus some fruity flavor that doesn’t really do much for the ale. On top of that, it doesn’t taste very carbonated. Ehhhh.

Аромат вискарный яркий, дубовая бочка чуть позади, копчёнка и жженочка в наличии. Во вкусе вискарь впереди с кислинкой бочковой заметной. Алкашка вискарная благородная через весь глоток идёт фоном. Тело довольно плотное. П/в карамели и орехов долгое.

Massive hit of bourbon from the casks. Smoky dark fruits. Lots going on!
