I don’t know if my palate is just done with unimpressive stouts or this was just too fruity for a coffee stout, but I didn’t like this much at all.

Jammy but also quite acetic, too, unfortunately. Oxidization has crept in mightily, but it’s pretty enjoyable, at least in small doses.

Can’t believe I’ve never tried this mediocrity! 😆 But all ripping aside, this is pretty solid, especially when consumed ice cold. I could imagine it being quite meh otherwise. Very refreshing and crushable. Not great flavor, but hey, I’ll take it.

Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA Attack
After trying multiple vintages of the classic offering, it’s super cool to try a barrel-aged version of this. What’s more, I think it’s really cool to see Sam Adams and DFH coming together as a business and as collaborators. Sweet, boozy, drinkable AF.

Fantastic to finally check out the new spot with the wifey on a date night. Another tasty entry in this personal Cantillon favorite. Grape, funk, barnyard, mildly juicy, and super drinkable despite the sour backbone.

REALLY cool to try this old AF beer. But unfortunately, time hasn’t been kind to this bottle. Legit like drinking all the things wrong with a farm - literal farmhouse poop, hay, vinegar, and other awfulness. I can’t give it a rating but cool all the same.

Kriek 100% Lambic (2017) Attack
Paired with Magic and a close friend, this was jammy AF and highly approachable. Notable barnyard coming through amidst semisweet cherry and a touch of cinnamon. Delightful!

Another offering I wouldn’t normally pay for, but another work benefit. 😉 This is decent, not much barrel but I’ll take it.

It’s been a MINUTE since I had this, and I can’t believe I never checked it in either. Back in my pre-Untappd heyday, I’d drink one of these with 1-3 years on it once per year, pre-BIL days no less. 😂 Anyways, this is delicious for what it is.

Rosé De Gambrinus (2022) Attack
Always great to be back here, and it’s the first time with Cayden in tow! This is a bit fresh and tarter than I’d prefer, but it’s hard to turn down a Loon on draft.

Decanted, per Jim’s recommendation, and just delightful. Funky, earthy, jammy, and enjoyable.

Kicked off Zwanze Day 2022 with a decanted version of this offering. Delicious and will be even better in a few years.

1913 Collection: Rye Barrel-Aged Oatleam Stout Attack
As one would expect, there’s a decent amount of barrel here, but there’s not much else to speak of, unfortunately. And I do enjoy oatmeal stouts, but this doesn’t have much going for it, especially for being a nitro pour. 🤷🏻♂️

Great to finally get to a DFH brewery location, albeit pretty far away from their OG spot. This was recommended by my server - which I appreciate, but an adjunct lager (like actual adjuncts NOT the style) should’ve given me pause. But alas, I didn’t. 😒

Big ole west coast IPA, with an unadulterated amount of hops that I really can’t place. Like a subdued version of fresh 120 Minute.

Cuban-Style Breakfast Stout Attack
This was my favorite of my flight, which isn’t saying a whole lot considering the OG pedigree of these guys. Good coffee, dark chocolate, nuttiness abound, amidst a decent body and lingering flavors.

Great to try this batch once again, especially on Christmas Eve and shared with my oldest friend, Nick. Splendid and tasty. That said, a bit more lactic than fresh back in 2018. 🤷🏻♂️ Down .1.

Blåbær Lambik (Blueberry Lambic) (2019) Attack
Fun to try this offering again, albeit a different batch. More lactic than I remember, but pretty enjoyable still.

Tyrnilambic Baie d'Argousier Attack
2021 batch - neat to finally try this. Pretty tasty, especially for how young it could taste.

Just terrific to fuck with again. I prefer this ale with more time on it, but 5 years is nothing to scoff at, so I’ll take it!

2018 vintage - tough to compare to the 2012 vintage I had back in 2015 since this tastes too young still, but it’s a banger all the same. Smooth yet funky, with blue cheese, apple, a bit of cognac, and a mild honeyed sweetness.

What a terrific treat to find on draft here. Superb, per usual. Up .1 from last time I had it.

Good to try this again, but the espresso detracts from the body and barrel more than ever before. Enjoyable though as it warms.

Forgot about this one from earlier. Another enjoyable batch of this rhubarb goodness!

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2021) Attack
Love me some semi-still, sour, blue cheese funk GCB! This batch is delicious, and it will only get better with time.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2016) Attack
A bit more acidic than I recall, but still jammy AF.

LC 8/13 - This is a shell of its former self - none of that caramel that I fell in love with, plus some fruity flavor that doesn’t really do much for the ale. On top of that, it doesn’t taste very carbonated. Ehhhh.

What a delectable vintage of this consistently fuego lambic; thanks for the hospitality, Michael B.! Cherry pie for days, this is nicely sweet, mildly funky, a touch earthy, but also very thirst quenching. I could dome a bottle of this with ease. 🤤

2011 vintage - this is drinking positively wonderfully, holy crap! Cherry, mild cinnamon, funk, nice sweetness, and barnyard lingering. The mouthfeel is ridiculously incredible, with the cherry and funk lingering. Only mild oxidization. Delightful sipper!

LC 5/29 - this is drinking wonderfully now with a good 5 years on it - just the way I like this bevvie. Up .15.

LC 5/26 - consumed in celebration of Chris’s birthday, this is drinking positively wonderfully right meow! Funky, mild blue cheese, barely any tartness, subtle oxidization setting in, and just a wonderfully smooth body. A real treat to celebrate with!

LC 5/7 - 2021 vintage - super cherry forward, almost as if it was made with cherries, replete with cinnamon to boot. Grape is certainly there too, but it’s more subdued amidst the aforementioned. Pretty solid mouthfeel, too. Would love this more age.

LC 5/7 - great to finally try this, but this wicked young still - if you’ve got a bottle, sit on it for a while. Don’t get me wrong, this is very good - lots of apple and pear amidst mild vinegar, funk, a bit of barnyard, and some sweetness.

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) (2017) Attack
LC 4/18 - Blue cheese funk, mild hops, lots of minerality, a surprising amount of acidity for the vintage (ie being 4 years young), and a mild green apple sweetness rounding it.

I’m happily impressed by this - nice roast, good vanilla, a bit of artificial maple, but the body of this imperial porter is terrific, it’s not too sweet, and it’s very drinkable. I enjoyed this!

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2005) Attack
LC 3/12 - What a treat to try; impressed that with 15+ years this still has no carb - still to the end! This is minerally, super barnyard and blue cheese forward, with a sharp acidity in back. Unfortunately not quite my jam these day, but fun to try.

12/31 - Peach farts for dayzzzzzz! This batch is a bit more lactic than I’d prefer, probably shouldn’t have opened the 2017 instead. Whoops! That said, I enjoyed it immensely, per usual, and I impressed a few friends who don’t really like sour beers. Win!

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) Attack
Last night - Second time having this in November, and I’m more impressed than I was the first time (up .1 to 4.2). The coffee and maple rock together amidst the barrel presence and roastiness. It has a better body than I initially gave it credit for. Yum!

Nelson Sauvin Brut Chardonnay Barrels! (2016) Attack
I wonder if I had drank this fresher - like soon after getting them for attending Copenhagen Fest in Boston in 2017 - I would have enjoyed it somewhat? Welp, one will never know. Cause now, this is Nelson-smelling dumpster fire. Whoops!

Time hasn’t done this any favors, not too surprisingly - soy sauce, green peppers, and sadness.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Attack
Love the addition of maple here and fudge coffee - makes for a nice twist on an already fun beverage. While it doesn’t have the mouthfeel I want, the flavors help compensate for everything missing. Enjoyable sipper for sure.

Kriek 100% Lambic (2011) Attack
LC Sunday - Enjoyed in commemoration of Zwanze Day 2020, which I forgot about. We made up for it by relishing this scrumptious kriek. The cinnamon that’s usually there when fresh still pops amidst tamed-down funk and barnyard. Sooo smooth, jammy, yet dry.

Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout (2020) Attack
LC Sunday - Having previously been a fan of this stout - especially with several years on it - I was excited to try this. And sure enough, the qualities I appreciated about this then are still there - prominent plum, molasses, cacao; plus a solid body...

LC Saturday - Lucky me, I have consumed this delightful ale twice in less than two months - hey now! After all, this ale slaps.

LC yesterday - 2018 - damn, this was superb out of the gate despite some initial concern it was too young. Classic Cantillon funk, with nice minerality, a touch of apple, mild sweetness, and a lovely presence of port; very quaffable but tried to not...
