Perfect amount of booziness in this one. Started out with all chocolate. Booze dominated the last bit. Very nice

Very interesting. Smoother than most barley wines but still has the big malt punch. Not as sweet and boozy as many of them are. Bitter hops almost finished like an IPA.

Malty, hoppy, not exactly what I expected, but still pretty good.

Definitely between styles. Dark for a barleywine. Roasty sweetness with a bitter hoppy finish

Was pretty skeptical because I am not a huge barleywine fan, but this is tasty. Malty and sweet. A little bitter on the finish. The booze is hid remarkably well. Quite good for the style.

I feel like barleywine and a black IPA had a baby in my mouth! We became friends no Nemesis here.

More bitter than I prefer in a barleywine. It's still good, but I prefer a more malty sweet barleywine with a lightly bitter finish.

Nice hoppy American Barleywine! Sweet syrupy nose, with a nutty caramel tongue but very easy to drink.

Quite dark for barleywine — A: deep profile some roast/smoke semi-rich malt faint plum. F: hefty barleywine loaded w/ bitter hops roasty semi-rich malt profile subtle woodsy tobacco smoke-esque some earthy spicy faint tobacco mint.

Reminiscing on old school Founders at the bottle shop. Barleywine with a mahogany hue, sweet maltiness, and plenty of flavors (and ABVs). Keep your friends close and your Nemesis closer.

Slight grapefruit. As it warms, I get more dark malts too. Weird taste. Floral, grapefruit, transitions into a hop bitterness. It may be too cold. As it warmed it got more IPA like. Not bad.

My first time trying this and it was really good. Not really a fan of barley wine beer but this is better than most make it out to be.

It's been way too long my Nemesis. Founders didn't elaborate on the roasted malts used but one of them is Weyermann Chocolate Rye which adds the roasty bite. Beer so good that even the brass birds want some. Here's to retribution & vengeance. Cheers! 🍻🦩
