One of the better barleywines I’ve had. Sweet on the front end, bitter hoppy finish. I hope this ends up in the regular rotation.

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Barleywine with a capital B. Sweet, toasty, dark, hops, full, malty, smooth. Great layers. The roastiness and the sweetness are perfectly, delicately balanced.

So much going on in this beer !. It's like a cross between a bock and ipa. Definitely would drink this with a New England fish fry meal 😋 great job Founders! Overall well put together!

A dry, bitter, back old school barley wine. Rich fruit and alcohol notes.

Malty and full of flavor. For a barley wine ale I was pleasantly surprised. A nice change from the sweet beers.

Barleywines are really starting to grow on me. Such a strong combination of both malts and hops. There’s a lot going on which makes every sip interesting

Day 4 of Founders advent calendar. Normally not a big barley wine guy, but this one's pretty good. I like how it doesn't overwhelm me with alcohol, flavor or funky flavor. It's kind of like a brown ale.

"The measure of a Superhero is always his Nemesis" A nonBA barleywine, dialed to the max- it almost drinks like it was. The 75 IBUs awakes you. Da sweet caramely notes, strength. The boozyness will mellow you out to Counterfight your Nemesis.."Nuff said"

Despite the low rating this is really good. Sweet malts, dried fruits, plum, fig, caramel, roasted malts and a heavy bitterness at the end from the hops.

Very good barleywine, best consumed over time and chilled in entry room rather than the fridge.

i just found Old Farmer's Almanacs from 1864 and 1866. no idea where I got them. History is cool. And this beer rocks. And so much more left in this old box of stuff.

Truely unique and that the hops and pine notes come though on this dark of a beer. Interesting taste twister!
