A good Strong Ale not a good Barleywine but I will say the minimal hops would be welcome if they did in fact brew something more in line with the style. It's a good beer but I rate how it fits into the style and this misses the mark by a lot.

Founders honors craft brewers with this barley wine beer. Awesome. Hits all the flavor categories listed.

So great to see it back! “ The Bottle Shop Series is a tribute to the folks who supported ragtag brewers across the country when craft beer was in its infancy. When beer enthusiasts sought out innovation through big flavor, in-your-face complexity and...

Team happy hour. 11 percent creeps. Happy Earth day. Very smooth.

Good, but a bit too dry relative to what I prefer for the style.

Tasty, but I think could have done with some aging on my part.

Aroma is like olive brine..... but over all taste is pretty good.

Not what I would expect from a barleywine. More on the roast chocolate side for malts and more bitter hops than I like in this style.

This tastes like an amber ale with a little bit of hops, big time missed the mark, but I do enjoy Amber’s so it wasn’t a drain pour

Mild malty aroma with a bit of smoke and alcohol. Body is heavy and leaves a lot of residue going down. This has big characteristics. Extremely hop forward, nutty, and boozy. Exist in tandem, not blended. Aggressive aftertaste. Pair with smoked sausages

Good malty backbone. Some nice roast going on. Flavors arrive after it sits a bit. 3.5 cold, 4.0 otherwise.

Very dry for a barleywine base. Lower residual sweetness than normal with higher hop bitterness. Overall very enjoyable.

No idea if this is the same recipe as the Nemesis from bottle shares of yore, but my palate has changed. Somewhat like Sublimely Self Righteous, it's almost black, bitter and hoppy, but with plenty of malt to back it up.

Dry hop, burnt acidic coffee, bitter, dark and heavy

Raisins and caramel sweetness on the finish. Lacking complexity that I prefer in the BA version of these beers.

At 75IBUs it’s a hop bomb. This needs a year or 2 in the bunker to temper. Nice color but can hardly taste the barley wine. Warming it mellows a bit. Kind of fun but off balanced. 🍻👈🏼😜👊🏾

Great! I feel it's been so long since I've had a barleywine. Maybe wish for more caramelly.
