Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter

Brown Ale - American

They don't make 'em like they used to... or do they? The bottle shop series is a tribute to the folks who supported ragtag brewer's across the country when craft beer was in its infancy. when beer enthusiasts sought out innovation through big flavor, in your face complexity and revered quality above all else. This series is for you: the distinguished beer connoisseur still seeking the revolution that energized the industry we know today -- that settles for nothing less then the very best!

Unfortunately I've never had a highball to compare. But a nice Bourbon ale. It's presence is clear and upfront, but not so strong to be off-putting. Maybe a bit woody. Thanks Michelle P.! Happy New Year everyone!!! Here's to a better 2022!

Big orange marmalade vibes. Massive nose of orange peel. Bit of a barley sugar boiled sweets thing going on.

Didn’t realize this was such a high ABV, but a nice sweet (brown sugar / molasses) beer with a lot of maltiness also.

Interesting… definitely has cocktail ( old fashioned) notes with the spice /orange/ cherry notes. Not sure of base style( brown ale?) DIFFERENT, YOMV, but try it for some variety!

Nice, hints of caramel and vanilla, dark fruit with spice, malty and slightly similar to a Bock style beer. Nice boozy, sweet and a really decent sipper. Kel S. you should look out for this one, I think you’d like it.

Sweeter and thinner than a brown ale, this sips more like a Belgian Dubbel or quad. Excellent flavor, not too sweet, and only subtle hints of cherry. Its not a Manhattan in a bottle, but it's good.

OMG!

Perfume, candy sweets. Red berries, dried fruits, bourbon, herbal, bonbon. Heavy sweet light bitter medium fruity sour. medium lasting fruity roasty medium bittersweet, alcohol is covered. Full body oily soft carbonation. Bit heavy rich dessert beer.

Really nice BA brown ale. Quite boozy, but still easy-drinking. Wish I'd gotten more than one of these.

Some burnt caramel flavor on front. Some brown sugar notes follows. A slight dried fruit note joins in. A hint of cherry develops on the finish. Subtle bourbon barrel flavor throughout, builds slightly on finish. 11% not that noticeable.
