Backwoods Bastard (2014)

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice, and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

Not sure I've ever had an 8 year old beer, but can't complain about how this has aged!

Basically, it's an Oak aged barley wine at this point. Not bad though.

Looks like cola, boozy/bourbon nose. Bourbon, toffee stickiness, thick body. Cheers to 10 years!

Peakade säkert nån gång 2015 men håller fortfarande upp riktigt bra. Ingen felsmaker alls. Något tunn men inte mer än förväntat. Positivt överraskad.

cellared for 7 years. Nose is light, hints of blueberry. Body is lighter. Flavor is like a fruit roll up - like a warm gusher almost? Lots of particulate in this one.

Backwoods flight continues. Way more carbonation. This one might be better now then fresh. I think this is when this beer starting going downhill a little bit this was enjoyable

8 years is too long for this. Inoffensive, but a lot of little complexities and intensities that make this beer great are completely faded.
