Day three of the advent calendar. Everything they’d said it would be. Founders is dead on with their adjuncts.

Not really that impressed. Just a lot of burnt espresso is all I’m getting. Let down from founders :/

The nutty flavor notes led me to the Nutella secret recipe. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, lactose sugar, maybe some wood chips, and voilà. Velvet.

Not a big brown ale guy but this is pretty taste. Brown ale with some sweetness. Would drink again

Founders Advent Beer No 3: Translucent burnt umber color, minimal foamy khaki collar and soapy lacing, fresh roast coffee, chocolate, and bourbon aroma and taste, lactose sweet and vanilla notes, coffee and smooth oak finish.

BIG coffee nose (don’t like coffee), knew it would still be a great brew, Founders never disappoints. Hoping a couple years of cellaring will mellow the coffee & bring out the other flavors.

Does not taste like a brown thankfully. Roasty

I enjoy this way more than I thought I would! This beer has a lot going on, which can be a bad thing sometimes, but this one actually nails it. Some sweetness, not too much coffee (which I appreciate.) Very solid beer

Coffee notes really pull this together and prevent it being too sweet. Among Founder's imperial brown ales I personally prefer Underground Mountain Brown, but this is a great alternative that runs sweeter and more velvety.
