I know it's not Irish, but I thought the roastiness of it would be good flavor for this Instant Pot corned beef...and I don't keep any of that Guiness swill on-hand.🤷♂️

Plenty of signs of age, but this is still a solid brew. Last one.

Has not held up in five years. There's no booze and there's barely any chocolate. Still it's not terrible.

Dry chalky roast. A bit of dark cherry astringency. Thanks, Broady!

Probably would have been great 2 years ago. You can taste the aging process starting to diminish the flavor a bit. And a slight metallic aftertaste which could possibly by CJs taplines, I don’t know.

2016 variety has was ages. Molasses with a roasty chocolate finish. Starts smooth but still has a little boozy kick on the finish.

decent but 2014 took the show. 7yr is current sweet spot imo.

Flaskad 30/11-16. Mjuka och fina smaker av rostad malt, kaffe, mörk choklad och lite rök. Den håller fortfarande måttet även om lagringen inte gett något extra. Mycket gott!

Thanks dynobyte Homebrewher. This is nice. I didn’t realize it was 16. Some dried fruit and coffee.

Boozy roast and coffee aroma, roasty dry finish, solid bitterness at finish, dark chocolate notes as well, raisin notes on the background.

Last one. Nice and smokey. Slight bitterness. Bought these 2016 and thought they were too bitter for a stout. Aging it worked wonders. Nice coffee and toffee notes. A winner winner chicken dinner

Coffee and molasses with the usual butter aftertaste. 4.10

(2d ago) CBCC-in-absentia, Day Five - Pelican Edition. Also celebrating a finished 1F 1/2 bath. Knocked a tad off; the fourth year aging was probably just a bit too much. But the complexity, smoothness, and richness are the envy of the imp stout set.

Not as delicious as it once was. While still very good, alas, time has not been as kind to this beer as it has other beers in my cellar. A lot of the rich, malty, roasty, velvety, chocolate & stone fruit have faded. Still, it’s quite delicious.

Tastes way better than I remembered. Chocolate is more pronounced. Way smoother aswell. Minimal roastiness on the finish.

One day away from being 59 months, bottled 11/24/15. Might be oldest beer in the fridge, held up very well, super rich and chewy. Nutty.

Black, thick motor oil-like pour. Bubbly, dark brown head. Nose of roasted malt, dark chocolate. Tastes like brownie batter, black licorice. Slight ash on the finish.
