Rich body, rounded and medium dry palate. Woody, bourbon taste, mild booze, oaks, vanilla, sawdust, dark chocolate. Dry finish with long warming alcohol.

Nice comparing it to the French toast... so excited.

This is the 2nd bastard on the list this evening & it kicks it up a notch or two! Maintains the malt complexity with some Scotch essence, but the Bourbon Barrel-Aging adds a sweet & warming character. Finishes with oaky vanilla undertones. It’s Crackin’!

Much prefer this over the french toast version and moreso over aged versions.

3/29/22 bottle. Violating my usual no-macro because I haven’t had this beer in ages and used to really love it. Pours with a soft off-white head atop a dark body. Nose is barrel vanillins, bourbon, sweet bready malts and hints of dark fruit (dates)

Once again, I love me a bourbon barrel aged scotch ale. This is great.

Pleasant taste from bourbon, some caramel, raisins and vanilla. This and the last two episodes of The Crown.

Been a long time since I’ve had this. Pretty good but barrel is fairly weak leaving me wanting a little more. That said. At this price it’s fantastic.
