Mango Magnifico (2022)

Fruit Beer

Released as part of the Bottle Shop Series, Mango Magnifico is a high-gravity fruit beer brewed with mango and a touch of habaneros to add just the right amount of heat. The delicate flavors imparted by the sweet richness of the mango are punctuated perfectly by the subtle heat of the habaneros, proving that fruit beers do not have to be one-note.

Not that bad. Not sweet, which is fantastic, with a touch of heat.

Malty mango touch of heat and then honey…. So malty though I couldn’t finish it. The malty/bready reminded me of a red oak.

Malty with mango and a nice balanced heat at the end. Glad this was released again.

TAG

10% ABV Imperial Fruit Beer. Medium body with flavors of sweet ripe mangos, hanañero and mild pepper spiciness. Smooth and fruity for the high ABV.

Very-malty-forward, just the right amount of peppery habanero heat with a sweetness to finish.

Not as good as the 2016 version and definitely not worth the $5 price. But, gets better as it warms, whereas the earlier version was great cold right from the start.

Clear orange-amber with dissipating ivory head to minimal level. Mango nose & taste; add habanero flavor. There’s sweet-heat balance.

I remember having the OG in bombers years ago. Can’t say this is how I remember it, but I still like this one.

Unfortunately you can’t go back home. One of my very favorites. I feel like the mango and the habanero are subdued as compared to the original. Maybe just my ancient tastebuds.

A bit more sweet heat to complement my Asian Zing dipping sauce… Thanks, Andrew K.!

One of the more interesting beers I’ve ever had. Less of a fruit beer and more of a spicy strong ale. One and done on this one. And at 10%, not likely to finish this one. Not enjoying it enough to take that hit.

This is a lot more medicinal than I remember. Both the mango and the habanero (assuming it's still the heat here) are more subdued than in the past.

Nice mango aroma with a noticeable habanero aroma following. Taste has mango up front with the habanero showing up in the late mid-palate and leaving a slight burning sensation in the throat. First time I've had this fresh. Definitely an enjoyable beer

Loved the original release back in 2013, but it's definitely a bit too sweet for my palate nowadays. That said, I still dig the simplistic flavors. If interested, The Beer PaTroll YouTube review can be found here: https://youtu.be/5yy5-c62TGI

This high-grav fruit beer is pretty good, I just wish the touch of habanero was more prominent in cutting the sweetness.

Fantastic start to the evening. Thanks JB! Well-balanced. Just enough heat to take the sweet edge off the mango.

Starts out as mango on your tongue. Finishes as habanero down your throat. Love the sweet heat.

Finally found this today. I had given up thinking I had missed out. I was also worried it wasn’t going to be as good as I thought it was in 2016. But it’s exactly the same. Love this stuff so much.

So nice to see again. The mango is much more prevalent than the bomber series, which I still have,... awesome revisit.
