2018 bottle, 12.3%. Not nearly as sharp as the previous bottle, but still not as great as it was fresh. Loads of coffee, turned the beer very bitter. Some bourbon, fairly alcoholic, low carbonation, and super dark chocolate. Bit unbalanced bitterness.

Absolutely delightful this year. Getting more bourbon and oak than other years. Chocolate is minimal but the coffee shines in the aftertaste. Thick, oakey, vanilla, with a little bit of heat. Great way to kickstart my birthday.

Hier zit veel in. Veel koffie, vanille, eikenhout vleugje chocola, btj bourbon, alcoholische afdronk (die neigt naar jonge jenever!) en op het eind een tinteling op de tong. Zijdeachtig tussendoor. Smaakvolle Imp stout, mooi romig. Just a bit 2 sweet 4 me

Very good, and very strong. A stout that is aged on bourbon barrels. I am on vacation today, and just finished a day of hiking in northeastern Minnesota. A perfect way to end the day!

It’s getting darker and I’m getting drunker. This is good. I’m worried I’m going to kill Carl on our drive home. That’s unfortunate because I like Carl. Maybe there’s something to this ABV number?...
