Excellent BBA scotch ale after taking grandkids to Hollowen parade

The smell of this one is unbeatable. Absolute perfect French toast and syrup nose. Boozy too, and sweet, but drinkable.

Love this beer.... Smooth, bourbon, caramel, ripe fruit. Yum

I really enjoy this. Good barrel flavor and not overpowering like stouts.

So dang good; delectable base Scotch Ale accented magnificently by barrel aged flavor.

It's been a few years but it's like revisiting a lifelong friend. A great way to start a 10 day break.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is the best beer that founders makes. Better than KBS or any of its variants IMO. I don't know why I dont drink it more often. 4.65

Doing a backwoods vertical tonight with some older bottles from the cellar. Starting with fresh.

[bottled 07.24.23]First 2023 iteration. The Bastard is normally my trail beer; nothing like a 11% scotch ale when summiting. Occasionally I consider it ok to sip at home. More toffee, roasty notes this year and less barrel-aged character(a disappointment)

Scotch ales are always made better with bourbon barrel aging. So good!
