Balanced and a bit boozy with bourbon notes of vanilla.

Skøn fyraftensøl! Træ, lidt røg, whisky og karameller.

One of my favorite Founders beers. Just love the way the boozy bourbon notes pop against the caramelly, smoked peat Scotch Ale notes.

English Strong Ale Beer School #3: I’m contractually obligated to love this beer. Probably would irregardless of who brewed it because it’s a damn good brew. Just that very light touch of smokiness on it.

It begins with caramel quickly followed by Scotch flavor. The taste of oak barrels makes itself known.

Very well executed. A slightly sweet woodiness gives way to smooth bourbon barrel notes. Very well done without being boozy.

For Valentine's Day, we're having Linda's choice, a ruby red Scotish ale wee heavy-styled ale from Founders Brewery.

Nice dark brown color. Can smell the bourbon barrel along with some caramel and sweet malt, maybe a bit of apricot too. Can taste the bourbon and a bit of caramel. Very strong, high alcohol obvious. Excellent scotch ale. One to sip slowly and enjoy.

Plenty of bourbon, some oak and a twinge of smoke. Perfect start to a (well deserved) 😉 three day weekend.

🌧️ day and now weekend ruined our camping 🏕️ plans at the lake. So we will watch spring training ⚾️ games in the living room. Ash has been going stir crazy so this is a real bummer for her.

Cookies and Beer - the coconut on the cookie and oakiness from the beer is a masterful pairing along with the caramel from both. 2 of my favorites together.
