KBS Blueberry

Stout - Imperial / Double Coffee

It’s time to celebrate two decades of barrel-aging imperial stouts with KBS Blueberry. In honor of the 20th anniversary of KBS, we’ve given this legendary beer a dose of Michigan blueberries. The alluring aroma of dessert brings you in, while layers of vanilla, coffee, chocolate, oak and bourbon barrel notes become more profound with every sip. A sweet and sophisticated tribute to a world-renowned beer

Hmm, that’s a lot of blueberry. It’s cloying. Not loving this. It’s still got a lot of what makes KBS great, but it’s just overwhelming blueberry syrup.

Not what I was expecting. It's actually good. Sweet, rich, smooth. Not my favorite barrel aged beer, but unique and good.

Lots of very bold flavors. The first sip seemed a bit strange. But it quickly grew on me. If pairing with food, I'd recommend bold or spicy flavors to compliment.

Thought I’d finish the night off with some dessert. Boozy with subtle notes of blueberry. Could use a little more. Definitely taste the bourbon. Has a sickly sweet finish. A little disappointed to be honest.

Let this one sit a full year to see how it would evolve. Coffee and roast gave way to vanilla and blueberry sweetness a bit too much. Almost medicinal...

Maybe a hint of blueberries in pour with coffee and bourbon. Incredibly smooth. For me, first flavor on first sip was wonderful chocolate, then sweetness, blueberries in close. Lingering sweetness, just a touch of blueberries and coffee in finish.

Bærsyre, men ikke meget blåbær. Men måske handler det om den TIPA vi drak før..

Like someone dropped berry lemonade concentrate in a nice stout. It’s good for sure, but I would have rated it higher if the lemonade was dialed down a bit.

Noce and sweet stout, not overky thick. Interesting mixin of Cinzano/Cherry wine.

After a fun evening of music bingo, I now take in game three of the Coupe de Stanley finals. The. ‘Panther’ may have just gained control of this game and ultimately of this series. And I’m actually OK with this.
