Curmudgeon Old Ale

Old / Stock Ale

Brewed with molasses and a focus on malts, then oak-aged. The result is a strong, rich delight that’s deceptively smooth and drinkable.

Det er mig egentlig imod at rate en taster, men....Sød tørret frugt, bourbon, og en markant bitterhed. Kan dog bedre lide dens bedre halvdel.

Måtte naturligvis have et helt glas. Det havde fortjent at blive nydt over lidt længere tid, hvor temperaturen langsomt stiger og flere smage træder frem.

2017 has mellowed and like all old ales I love the sweetness.

Curmudgeon from @foundersbrewing is molasses based Old Ale aged in Oak Ales is shockingly an easy drinker even at 9.8% Great Holiday flavor profile for those looking for a beer with layers of flavor but not overly heavy.

Cant believe that I ever forgot to check this one in. This bottle is at least a few years old and once the contents are poured, a residue is left stuck to the bottom of the bottle. very well aged

Thanks Kenny K for bottling this 2017 version! Saved this for the right moment - which is the night before a snow day in Texas!

Last bottle. 😪 2014 batch (Best Before 5/12/2015). A very old Old Ale. I think I paid about $2.63 a bottle from Phoenix Liquor. Halcyon days. Still drinks like smooth toffee malt. No hint of the 9.8% ABV. Delicious.

Never had anything like it. Sweet but far from a stout. Molasses citrus and oak. Sounds odd but works.
