Tis the season for brews with tonka beans. Luckily, this year, breweries have learned that too much tonka is not a good thing. Too bad i get no habanero heat, though. End result is a good dessert.

It is as if someone made a very mediocre stout and tried to cover up the fact by adding all the aromas you could possibly think of. Wait… that’s exactly how it is. It lacks character, substance and balance none of which is made up for by the added notes

Final beer of flight #2. A Danish 🇩🇰 impy stout with cacao, coconut and tonka beans. It’s nice enough…but I can’t rate it higher than 4…it’s a little thin and the tonka beans aren’t prominent enough for my liking.

Tydelig kokos i eftersmagen. Egentlig en juleøl. God repræsentant for en genre, som jeg ellers ikke gør mig meget i.

Gilde i Sønderborg. Blot en øl drukket grundet kørsel. Fortjener selvfølgelig en stout når man er hjemme igen. Desværre er det en bajs uden særpræg. Nydes i selskab af The Pretty Reckless - Death by Rock n Roll.

Mørk med brunt skum. Dufter let ristet med noter af kanel. I smagen er kaffe, mørk chokolade og måske en snert vanilje. Let bitterhed i eftersmagen. Skejer ikke ud på nogen måde men dog let drikkelig. To ka, kokos og chili kan jeg ikke finde!

A Dry & Bitter classic take on a stout 😀 Quite heavy on the dark and bitter chocolatey malt with a decent body. Quite dry with some sweetness and packed with intense dark flavours. Slightly spicy.

Roasted malt on the nose. Taste is smooth, creamy, bitter chocolate, slightly sweet, somewhat spicy (but not really hot), roasted malt. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness - and well dosed chili.

Chocolate smell and taste. Extremely thin texture and no X-Mas spices what so ever. Coconuts, ok where, Habanero, ok where, Tonja beans, ok where!!!???
