Palo Santo Marron

Brown Ale - Imperial / Double

An unfiltered, unfettered, unprecedented brown ale aged in handmade wooden brewing vessels. The caramel and vanilla complexity unique to this beer comes from the exotic Paraguayan Palo Santo wood from which these tanks were crafted. Palo Santo means "holy tree" and its wood has been used in South American wine-making communities.

Last time I checked in this beer I was 22. Looks like I had good taste then too! Nice, strong taste.

Beer:30 couldn’t come quick enough today with these fuckin’ trumpeters storming the Capitol. What a gotdamm shame. The beer is fine. A little bitter. A little woody. Fucking trump.

Craft beer at its old school finest. Clearly a lost battle with the TTB, malt beverage aged in Pali Santo wood is amazing. “It’s all very exciting. We have wood. Now you do too” - the label

A little too much hops bitterness - prevents some of the other flavors from coming through. Otherwise, a strong - and flavorful - imperial brown.

After sadly missing out on visiting the dogfish tap room, as it was booked out, I settled on buying a few takeaways. This one was pretty nice, but I was expecting a bit more from the exciting narrative on the label

Cherry, sweetness, boozy as hell, woody, lightly smoky. AGED 8 years. This was bottled 02/02/12.

Wow! Very flavorful brown ale. Sweet and boozy with a nice balance. The vanilla and caramel sweetness offset the booz. Incredible!
