World Wide Stout - Bourbon Barrel Aged

Stout - Imperial / Double

Just when we thought World Wide Stout couldn’t get any better… Our brewers decided to take a Dogfish Head legend and age it on charred oak bourbon barrels acquired directly from Heaven Hill Distillery – still wet with spirits when they arrived at the brewery! Rare and often rumored about in the darkest corners of the beer community, this variety of World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex, balancing notes of coffee and licorice with the carmely, smooth finish of bourbon. Clocking in at 15-18% ABV, Bourbon Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout is an excellent candidate for cellaring, so grab a few bottle to enjoy now and lay the others down for a few years. You’ll be happy you did … trust us.

Fantastic roasty toasty imperial stout … one of the best I’ve had. Bourbon barrel-aged w/ coffee & rich caramel (malt). Super strong & balanced w/ better carbonation than most stouts. 18%. Bday bottle share party. (FLN)

I’ve got a few stouts collecting dust in the cellar, and this is was damn impressive for being 4 years old.

Thinner than expected but boozy. Dark and roasty with coffee and dark malts. Subtle bourbon undertones.

This is so good. Boozy and sweet with plenty of malty and roasty goodness. Smooth and way too easy to drink.

Wow. I can't believe I had this over a year ago. It has been one of those weeks, so this is welcome. Rich, but the bourbon character is not too pronounced. The fusel intensity has gently mellowed and what remains is a lovely warmth to cheer a rainy day.

Bottled 11/1/19. So, so good. I think it’s an underrated stout.

Absurdly rich, oakey and strong. Dark, brutal abv and thick and flavorful as molasses.

Not as boozy as I’d surmise and is a great sipper! The force is strong with this one…

The scent is mild, but there is no missing the bourbon once you taste it. Sweet and smooth and easy to drink while packing that high abv punch. Warms you right from your core. Probably would have scored it higher, but the price point was a bit high.
