World Wide Stout (2019)

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex. This ageable ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port than with a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer.

04/23/19 - classic roasty coffee, mellow for the %. Wish I had a 21 on hand to compare

Bottled 05/09/19… Easily the best one of the 8 WWS I had from 2019. I guess the aging really did a great wonder on this high gravity brew.

This is unreal for the ABV. The only thing keeping it from a 5.0 is the mouthfeel…just a bit thin for something so rich.

Strong stone fruit and dark fruit flavors. A little acidic with slight vinegar smell. Like a rich port wine. A would have thought it aged in port barrels.

Sweet upfront followed by dark fruit huge hit of roasted malt and coffee with a bitter finish, reminiscent of a black ale. Very complex and very good. Pick up more port wine on palate as you drink.

Rich, slightly sweet and roasted flavor shine. Booziness has mellowed into a nice smooth glass of deliciousness. Bottled 4.11.2019

Drinking really well right now. Still slightly boozy. Hops have mellowed to a touch of bitterness. And still a little sweet. And very roasty. 🍻1️⃣❤️🌎☮️

Wow! Broke this whopper out of the cellar last night and what a trip. Huge notes of dark chocolate and roasty malts with a boozy finish, but not overpowering. Surprised at the mellowness for the high octane ABV.

Didn’t have Guinness, but this’ll do. 😉 Sweet, rich, roasty. Did I say sweet? Has aged well. Bottle date 4/23/19.

Bottled 09 May 2019. Thick taste. A dark strong roasty malt flavor. Smokey. Notes of a licorice taste. Although the strong roasted malt flavor masks the alcohol taste, it feels strong and boozy. It’s still good though.

Bottled 20190509. Must've mellowed in the bottle vs fresh on tap. Much smoother with rounded edges.

Coffee has fallen off a cliff, but 3 years out, still a great beer. Strangely thin-bodied for a 16% beer but still good stuff

Still rough as can be after 2 yrs. This base definitely is better in a Barrel because it sucks without even aged.

At 3 years old, the chocolate really starts to come out. Another year or two would have allowed for slightly more mellowing, but quite tasty!
