Yule Mælk Bourbon Barrel Aged (2019) Grimm
Having sat on this a few years, feel it remains a 4.25, still pretty fucking great, didn't age quite as gracefully as I'd hoped.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2017) Grimm
2018 after three years was pretty breathtaking. This is also great but I can't help but feel five years is a bit too long.

Not a lot of barrel, hazelnut is lovely though. Relatively dry, smooth, medium bodied, quite roasty, a healthy level of bitterness, fudgy chocolate, pretty nice. And the nose is spectacular.

I liked the bourbon barrel slightly more but this was also excellent. Really wish I had another of each to see what they'd be like in a few years.

Astonished I hadn't checked this in before. Still a very solid beer.

A little underwhelming this year. Not a lot of barrel character. Roasty, nice coffee notes, berries, chocolate, a little on the bitter side, even a little salty at times. A little thin and quick too. Still good, just not great.

I'm thinking age actually didn't do this guy many favors. Still good, just feels like a shadow of itself.

Couldn't get a good picture of the bottling date. I'm amazed. This has matured beautifully. It's mellow, harmonious, and surprisingly smooth in spite of its considerable alcohol presence. I've enjoyed only a small handful of stouts more.
