Delicious. The bright citrus pairs well with the base lambic and the whiskey barrel aging adds another dimension. Great balance overall.

Lambic Vin Jaune / La Vie Est Belge (2022) Cong
Amazing, lambic perfection. Lemon brightness and aromas dominate when cold, while a delicate and tasty funk becomes more present as it warms. This is rounded out by light peppery notes reminiscent of Mamouche and near zero tartness. Easy solodome.

Sangiovese really shines through. A touch of tannins with a light acidity/tartness.

Wow. Bold funk, herbalness, and body while staying balanced. Pepper/spice is strong but works well too

a bit young, needs more time to develop more complexity and mellow out the cotton candy sweetness

more apricots on the nose than recent batches, funk dominates on the taste though

tasting great, surprisingly soft and cherry forward compared to most krieks

could do with a little more age to round it out, but the herbal punchiness feels almost recency-esque in the best way

B4NA, true to the name, a classic gueuze, not sure what vintage.

Camerise is always a treat, one of my favorite lambics. Thanks Marc L. !

rhubarb usually isn’t my cup of tea, but this has aged well where the vegetal notes are subtle but still present. Pretty nice overall

Reminds me of a soft but rich Pinot Noir, very low acidity and super drinkable

More funky and less bright compared to the 2018 that I remember
