It has now been given time. Must agree, improved with age. Aroma of almost yellow stone fruited spontaneous beer with a hint of acetone. Sweeter and way lighter than Bruocsella. Body and carbonation more up my valley. Laid back brettiness. Wonderful.

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2012)

Never been the biggest fan of the flat lambics. Pretty sharp and throat burning. Medium acidity. Moth balls and old hops.

Jule Mælk Cognac Edition

Peppery and boozy. Sweetener, heavy roast and tobacco. Nope

Jule Mælk Rhum Edition (2017)

Pretty peaty and roasty for a mill stout. Definitely peaked, but not horrible.

Oude Geuze A L’Ancienne VAT 108bis Mono Blend

Trym 6 years! Pretty off aroma of red and green apple skins. Flavour is also pretty sweet yet acidic green apples, puckering with sweet wheat.

Beer Geek Konfekt

Smells like Anton Berg marzipan. Roasty and bitter against the sweet marzipan. Base is good but the adjuncts are just over the top.

Walnuts, basil, dandelions and old wheat. Doesn't work for me.

Deep and sour with red wine and added barrels. Mild puckering and strawberry seeds.

Saint Lamvinus (2022)

Red and sweet grape skins. Mild funk

Classic Gueuze (2022)

Surprisingly simple and light. Low to medium complexity. Lime, wheat and umami. Falls off pretty quickly. Goes well for babys first gøz

Bright and light lemon juice. Earthy bitterness and old hops

HORAL's Oude Geuze Mega Blend 2009

Time is a cruel mistress. More cardboard that kills of the sweet trail mix. Herbal bitterness against sweet lemon. Citrus pith.

Watered out green apple juice. Light yet sweet. Down rated from last time but still a wonderful beer.

HORAL's Oude Geuze Mega Blend (2021)

Puckering and dry with some nutty and earthy notes. Effervescent and semi-sharp. Citrus pith. Difficult to categorise as it obviously is a well put together brew but it doesn't really work for this. Probably better with age.

Iris (2013)

Very vinous and perfumy on the nose. Sharp, dandelions and some sweet herbs and jasmine rice. Cardboard. This is not a good beer.

Iris (2019)

Similar on both aroma and flavour as 2013 but the sweetness mellows out the bitterness and herbaceousness. Herbs, flower petals, sweet puke and very dry, yet sweet white wine.

Saint Lamvinus (2019)

Sure, it may be the same as the 2011, but I would not be able to pick it out in a line-up. Red berries, less funk, less acidity. Less dimensionality but a profile I prefer.

Very heavy stable boy on the nose. Funk, acidic and fruit-like wine. Goose- and cloudberries. Physalis. Fancy, but not great.

Overly sweet cherries.

Sweet and dank NEDIPA.

1000 IBU (Mikkeller Beer Lab)

This can't be 1000 IBU. Medium bitterness compared to the bitter bomb the previous was. Sweet caramel malt, refined sugary alcohol, unidentifiable hops and very little aftertaste.

Imperial Stout

Semi-old school roasted imperial stout. Dark malts, unsweet burnt caramel, Umami, green coffe beans. Not fantastic.

Nightcap

Roasted and tobacco driven homebrew. Unsweet umami and ash. Straight up bad.

Gelateria Gelato Summer Gose

Amaretto sour with cherries instead of lime. Sweet with plenty of almonds.

Motueka Spring

Pungent tropical fruit and bitter earth notes.

Panther Cub (2021)

Thin, watery roasty and coffee driven porter with a shitload of lovely maple. Would have held up significantly better as a more full bodied stout, as the components are there.

Thin with loads of cinnamon. Nutmeg, bitter coffee beans, hazelnut cocoa and straight dirt. Not great. Of there where a slightly more sweet and thick variant of this if would make of a great proto-pastry

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021)

Prefer CBS and BS over KBS. Dry and bitter medium roasted coffee beans. Cocoa powder, mild unripe green peppers and a surprisingly thin body. CBS is still king.

Dangerously Close To Stupid 2.0

Used to love this series back in the day but as of today the rest of the DIPA's of this world have overtaken it. Old school WCDIPA with some caramel and sweetness but plenty of grapefruit bitterness and alcohol sweetness. Dank aroma.

Beer Greek Breakfast

Tell me you're containing Tonka without telling me you contain Tonka. Rich stout with loads of licorice root, green coffee beans, bitter coffee beans and Tonka. Dry wheat aftertaste as well. Complex flavours that really rubs me the wrong way. Thick AF wax

Has peaked HARD. Water with ash and mineral oil. Lumpy AF. Add in some peat and you've got a combo that doesn't work.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2020)

Ding! Works ice cold after painting. Sweet lemon, funk, some unsweet honey spices, wood (not oak), rock water and hay. Lovely

Light and sweet with green apple, lemon, wheat and hay.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018)

New vintage after Vinmonopolet probably bought, and ran out of, all of of the 2016 ones. Bitter coffee beans, soy sauce, heating alcohol, heavily charred barrels, tobacco, leather, ash and dark dark malts. CBS > BS > MKBS > KBS.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020)

Thick chocolate fudge and roasted malts against milder coffee. Still not up there with CBS but significantly better than straight KBS.

Lovely pastry with loads of fudge, chocolate, warming alcohol and mild barrels. Lovely.

Coffee has died down and has been replaced by moth balls-like dustiness and tart and sour dark malts. Not a fan.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge

Lovely thick stout with loaded of fresh, mild coffee (FRESH POOOOOT), dark caramel fudge, semi-sweet maple and medium roasted and charred wood. Was hoping for a CBS, but still a solid flavoured stout. Better than old KBS

Beer Geek Cocoa Shake BA Whisky Vanilla Rum

Rich and barreled cocoa stout. Somewhat sharper than your average bourbon stout. Still a fantastic beer.

Super ripe, bordering on rotting mango and other yellow stone fruits. Thick, lowly carbonated and sugary sweet.
