120 Minute IPA (2017) Scherer

#oldmoney like prior years it’s drinking incredibly well; highly recommend grabbing some of these and forgetting about them for a while

Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout (2017) Scherer

This beer has aged magnificently. Tons of nilla still and way too mellow for 16+. First fireside beer of many under the gazebo.

Backwoods Bastard (2016) Scherer

It’s decent; lost a step or two compared to other vintages I’ve had recently but respectable.

Ultimate Oktoberfest Scherer

4.1; enjoyed the ramped up approach to this one. Not as much barrel as I was thinking but not overly boozy. Thanks Al C.

Spontanchokeberry Scherer

Decent; super refreshing. Not sure what a chokeberry is but the flavor is faint if any and non offensive. Slight tartness.

Classic Gueuze (2015) Scherer

I could drink this all day. Funky nose, super crisp, and a nice subtle tartness at the end. Gonna need to get to the source someday; it’s on the bucket list. Happy early bday Karen S. 😘. Thanks for the assist in acquiring this way back Roo M. #oldmoney

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2017) Scherer

Not actually for drinking today but not horrible from the couple tastes I had; turning peppery but was a great base for the BBQ sauce.

Spontanseabuckthorn (2013) Scherer

I didn’t realize this bottle was from 2013 until we went to crack it. Tart, but muted compared to other Spontans likely due to additional age. The oak pops on this one as well. Not sure what seabuckthorn is, but tasted mainly like lambic. #oldmoney

12" Winale Scherer

Happy New Year! Definitely more white wine at this point than champagne but still really tasty stuff. Cheers all!

Beer Geek Cocoa Shake Scherer

Rando brew December continues. 2015 bottle; Father Time might have been to blame because I’m assuming congealed globs was not the intended outcome (and no not bottle sediment) didn’t let Karen S. experience this.

Beer Geek Vanilla Shake Scherer

Forgot we had this in 2019; faired much better than the cocoa in the cellar. There’s a ton of nilla in the nose, coffee is still there and the finish is a really bitter nilla bean, not sweet. 2017 bottle

Beer Geek Breakfast Scherer

Well, you can tell how old this one is by the bottle and label 😂. Rando beer December continues; carbed little SOB for being nearly 5 years old. Have higher hopes for the nilla shake and cocoa shake. Have a Big Blend but likely infected I believe.

Spontanpassionfruit Scherer

2015? I’m down; just love the spontan base beer. The passion fruit is a very faint sweetness on the back end but a nice compliment to the tart base. Drinking great.
