Sang Bleu (2023)

Lambic - Fruit

Lambic blend with blue honeysuckle, or haskap, berries. For the past two years, we’ve been making a fruited blend with Camerise berries in small quantities. These berries are slightly sweet with a beautiful acidity. We didn’t have to look very far for a its new name... a blue fruit that makes a blood-red beer: Sang Bleu. Our friend Ammo has outdone himself once again, creating a superb new label to go with its new name.

Just revisited a vintage Camerise the other night, at this fresh batch drinks almost a little lighter to me. But still a full flavor that's drinkably tasty. Easy "down the hatch". Also very much dig Proletariat's vibe and space. (and tap list)

Beer had on Wednesday: even though I'm not a noble, I really loved this beauty. S. too, so it's not cheating.

Very strong smell but a mild taste. Very fresh. What I always want wine to taste like, but it never does. Berry flavor is familiar but also unique. Outstanding and a tough act to follow.

Pours a deep amber-rouge color and produces a thick, foamy 2-3 finger height head. Aroma is dark fruit with bright funk and notes of floral, honey sweetness. Taste follows nose; fruit in front with a burst of bright acidity. Thick mouthfeel throughout.
