Hard to imagine that I have any left from ‘16 but I scored over a case from a small town VT store that didn’t know what they had back in a time when you could barely buy one bottle most places. Has gotten more winey than bourbon. Time to drink up 😕

Last birthday beer for today. taken from the basement archive. Was hoping it would have aged a little better. Slightly acidic. Decent coffee nose. No chocolate in it for me.

Not terrible. I normally hate this beer, thin and superficial. But this 2016 isn’t half bad.

"Beer of the moment" here at Ashley's. Dark and very smooth. Coffee and chocolate and bourbon must have all blended together in in the last seven years, they aren't really separately noticable. 12.4% ABV isn't really noticeable either, but it's there.

16-3, 7yr,2mo o. Spicy, bitter coffee. Cinnamon. Cardamom. Bitter wood character. Some fire to finish, despite the age. Nice.

Unknowingly bought for $1 at a blind online auction with 11 other large format bottles. I was shocked to see this in the lineup. Still drinks amazingly. The vanilla blec into a minty finish.

Unlike some other Founders beers, this aged just fine, even after 7 years. Fairly smooth but alcohol is still present. Lots of coffee. Hints of bourbon, though that is somewhat diminished.

Nydelig duft av kaffe og mørk sjokolade. God bitterhet, litt spritaktig ettersmak. 11,9%.

Also revisiting this one, two years older than the 2018 CBS and feels already much thinner and the barrel is also a faint memory. Still, a beauty of a barrel aged stout, just past its prime.

Still a decent amount of head for 7+ years of waiting. Very smooth. Rich. Sharp, slightly bitter dark chocolate notes. Finishes similarly with bourbon very late
