Found this older bottle in the archives (big surprise) and despite 8+ years in captivity it’s still well worth drinking. Lost some of its hoppy character but still a good pour.

Nine year old beer lol. Lost a little bit of flavor, but surprisingly held up.

Basically, it's an Oak aged barley wine at this point. Not bad though.

This ale has aged extremely well! Very smooth with a consistent vanilla flavor and a hint of nutty tones! A great find in my cellar.

The crazy stuff you find at HopCat! The years have mellowed the surly nature of this brew into something far more pleasant. Toffee and charred oak with hints of bourbon. Flavors are heavy dark fruit and caramel, scotch warmth and a syrupy full body. Wow.

Scotch and leather, slightly boozy, and a blend of caramel and molasses in the base. Hella good for 8 years old.

Not as sweet, but a touch of cinnamon at the end. Gave it a 4.5 at the time, but I’m lowering this go around.

Peakade säkert nån gång 2015 men håller fortfarande upp riktigt bra. Ingen felsmaker alls. Något tunn men inte mer än förväntat. Positivt överraskad.

8 years is too long for this. Inoffensive, but a lot of little complexities and intensities that make this beer great are completely faded.

Still holding up well. Mellowed barrel but still tons of flavor. Smoooooth!

This is a remarkably smooth and well-crafted beer, and it remains my favorite Wee Heavy that I have ever tried. After aging for eight years, it's even smoother. Booze, malt, & toffee, plus slightly smoky, spicy, and oaky, with a single-malt scotch taste.
