Blushing Monk (2015)

Fruit Beer

Blushing Monk is brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberries and with a Belgian yeast strain that keeps our head cellar operator from sleeping for a week. It pours a stunning deep berry red and, at 9.2% ABV, has a surprising kick. The perfect dessert beer, it can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fresh cheeses, fruit, cakes and more.

This is one of my ole time faves. So much rich raspberry flavors, sweet cherries. Very mild tartness. Just a great fruit beer.

Out fricken standing. 8 years old and just crushing it. Perfect body. Perfect carbonation. Some froth that lasted 10-15 min, easy. A delicious strawberry-raspberry pie filling. Just the lightest of funk. Early entrant into fav beer of the year.

For an 8-year-old beer, we were very pleased with this one. Full raspberry fruitiness, but neither too sweet nor tart. Strong but not boozy. Very enjoyable. Courtesy of my friend Ted's cellar.

I was going to give it a 3.75, but then we missed it with ginger ale, and dear lord in heaven that was amazing

Lost a little bit at this age but definitely drinkable. Not going to rate it being past it’s prime I’m sure.

I'm impressed at how much raspberry flavor comes through. I just wish this were a third to 1/2 as sweet. I note also this aged really wel

Aged well (not oxidized). Far too sweet but the raspberry comes through nicely. Cannot finish this big bottle of sugar

I was really worried about this one, but it has aged wonderfully. Funky tart raspberry tones. Jammy fruit body. This is lovely creamy and smooth. Damn.4.65

Hade inte gissat att det var från 2015. Mycket hallon och syra, inte alls särskilt söt. Inte särskilt mycket belgotoner. Torrt avslut med en liten beska.

Agree with MO that this is likely better than when fresh! Lots of raspberry, yeasty, aged wooden/stemmy and more notes! Glad I found a few in the cellar today. Happy New Years everyone! 👍🏼🍻🎉🥃💥🎇🎆
