Almost two years gone by, and likely a bit hot out for the choice, and this one still hits the right notes for me. Rich and smooth brown ale accented by notes of vanilla and chocolate and bourbon. Just a touch too sweet to be perfect, but still so nice.

Duften er domineret af kaffe - ikke hårdt ristet, men lidt tør, jordet eller nøddeagtig. Det samme gælder smagen, hvor fadlagringen ligger i baggrunden og komplimenterer øllen godt. Der er også tydelige noter af chokolade og vanilje, hvilket er lækkert.

En Imperial Brown Ale med markante noter af kaffe, chokolade og vanilje. Der er smæk på smagen, og kaffen er helt tydeligt i fokus. Den bliver lidt ensporig, men varmen kommer til sidst.

Bourbon, coffee and a solid base ale. Very similar to Backwoods Bastard, but with coffee.

Loads of earthy coffee in the nose. An earthy coffee flavor to start with. More sweetness and dark chocolate in mid flavor. Again the coffee in the ending and aftertaste. The bourbon is very mellow and really complements the beer instead of overpowering.

Founders kills it with this fine interplay of chocolate/vanilla and coffee balances the barrel aging very effectively. 2 years old

Koffie met rare melkchocolade. Vanille iets en boozy. Eerste indruk is matig maar de bourbon zit er heel mooi in. Toch genoten.

Fantastic Fathers Day meal w/ a delicious 2014 Monte Tabor Amarone Della Valpolicella wine, but it’s time for a little Velvet Rush and a siesta. Boozy smooth bourbon that’s a little sweet with a velvet mouthfeel to start. Bet it gets better as it warms.
