Ahh damn this is delicious!! Love it founders !! It’s about time someone barrel aged an octoberfest I’m sure it’s been fine but this is done right !!

I’m having this side by side with a regular Founders O’fest, a move which is 100% unnecessary. The barrel aged 10% vitamin ABV monster is a presence unto itself, like if Oktoberfest had a malt liquorized version. Different. I like it.

Not typically into October fest styles, but this is really nice! Hard to describe. Barrel aging is mellow and adds to the flavor without disrupting it or overpowering it.

Oddly sweet. Who barrel ages a Marzen? Founders. Light bodied, goes down damn easy for the ABV. Still, I can see how this is not everyone's jam.

Look of fresh motor oil with a tinge of red. Sweet flavor of whiskey.

Decent biscuit malt with a light note of bourbon to accentuate the flavor.

Shifty. Nice bourbon character. Oak & vanilla. It works with the base flavor wise, but dominates any idea of this drinking like a Marzen. Still fun tho. 3.75+

Barrel imparts sweetness and booziness. Like a cream sherry, malt beauty.

Not bad, but barrel aging doesn’t really do anything for the style, IMO.

I really wanted to love this, it sounded great but it was boring, not much taste of the bourbon barrels and didn't feel like a 10% abv.

Might be my favorite Oktoberfest ever. A bit hot at 10%ABV.

Get the barrel up front, but this doesn't come across as a huge beer. Nice malty base.

The bourbon is there, but unfortunately it overpowers the bready marzen characteristics, instead of enhancing them. But, still a nice cool weather sipper.

Smooth sipping. Nice bourbon flavor with the lightness of a much lower abv marzen.
