A year old now. Fresh Motor oil color w a tinge of red. More spiced now a year later and more mellow in the whiskey tones. Malty and sweet. A bit over sweet. Some oak, whiskey notes.

Unique take on a marzen. Retains the malty, caramel, traditional taste, but is noticeably thinner with more bite. My favorite Octoberfest to date, even though I wouldn't be able to drink it all day. Also, an interesting choice for an Advent calendar.

Bourbony marzen. Strong and supple. Pleasant but boozy.

Oktoberfest brews can be boring, but this Barrel-Aged version is not. The flavor profile is ramped up significantly.

Copper in color with more of a cocktail flavor than beer. Smooth with Bourbon and cherry notes.

Early for Oktoberfest, but had to try this fun take. Cold: big bourbon nose. Subtle malty smell too. Dangerously light body that is mainly bourbon flavor. Get some crisp malty lager at the end. Warmed: much more marzen smell and flavor come though.

Barrel-aging adds an interesting layer, would be interesting to try against their regular Oktoberfest

Bourbon notes on the nose are noticeable

Definitely boozy, but still resembles an Oktoberfest. Prost! 🍻

Edit submitted to the Untappd mods to get rid of the “other” tag for this beer. Much like Founders can’t get the handling of their business correct, they also can’t properly label an Untappd Märzen listing as just that, a Märzen.

Almost like an Oktoberfest spiked with bourbon, in a good way! Lots of caramel

Aroma of bourbon, oak, and caramel malt. Taste is quite nice with subtle undercurrents of vanilla, coconut, bourbon, and oak which give added complexity to what is probably a really well done Marzen. Moderate warmth on the finish. A nicely done beer!!

Interesting, a barreled märzen. I don't get any bourbon though. Smooth and 10%.

What's better than Oktoberfest? Ultimate Oktoberfest

Similar to Leinies Uber Oktoberfest from years ago.

Yes, it looks like an undercarbonated Marzen, but 9 months in bourbon barrels leave it unrecognizable to traditionalists. High malty sweetness is offset by moderate bitterness and its firepower is offset by smoothness.

Smell the whiskey more than taste. Goes down very easy for a 10%

Like 2 giants clashing. German Oktoberfest and the mighty bourbon. The liquor scent waffles inside the cavity of your sinuses. The malty mixture blends with the bourbon and happiness erupts in your brain. This marriage somehow works. Smooth and soothing.

Smooth and malty. The bourbon steals the show it definitely is the prominent flavor here.

When cold it tastes like a heavy/vanilla marzen. Bourbon bite really starts to show as it warms. Even then, it’s a pretty tame note.

The barrel really brings out a lot of caramel notes on the nose and the taste. The bourbon doesn't have anywhere to hide in a marzen so it tastes quite boozy. I kinda wish it retained a bit more marzen flavor but it's still pretty good
